Construction and Demolition Waste Diversion
City landfills now charge a designated materials rate for commercial customers. We think that the landfill costs are becoming outrageous but that’s calgary.
This rate increase includes concrete, brick and masonry block, asphalt and metal.
They have also launched a construction and demolition waste diversion pilot at Spyhill Landfill to provide recycling opportunities for wood, asphalt shingles, drywall and cardboard.
The problem is that the city refuses to provide labourers to separate loads, while still charging ultimately the customer inflated rates without ROI.
